One major factor to think about when purchasing or leasing a new car is overall safety. With modern technology constantly improving, drivers want features that will help assist to prevent an accident. That’s why the coming 2021 Toyota Camry is an exciting model; it will be the first Toyota model to feature the new Toyota Safety Sense™ 2.5+ system. Enhanced Pre-Collision System in the 2021 Toyota Camry
One major enhancement coming to the Toyota Safety Sense™ 2.5+ System is in its Pre-Collision System. As a feature that included Pedestrian Detection last year, it will now include both Intersection Support as well as stronger detection features, which can help spot bicyclists during both daytime and low-light conditions. As for the Intersection Support, it can detect and provide audio and visual cues when making a left turn in case of an oncoming pedestrian or vehicle. Emergency Steering, which is used to stabilize driver steering maneuvers within their lane while avoiding an object, will also be added.
Other Features in the Toyota Safety Sense™ 2.5+ System
Even after the Pre-Collision System enhancement, the 2021 Toyota Camry will provide more features inside its safety system. A Full-Speed Dynamic Radar Cruise Control is another updated feature. The enhanced system allows the vehicle to monitor space between a vehicle in front of you, even if it comes to a complete stop. Not only that, but it can also maintain distance from a stopped position back to regular speeds. Beyond the package, it’s important to note that the available Blind Spot Monitoring and Rear Cross-Traffic Alert feature will return, being standard on XLE and CSE models. However, other features inside the TSS 2.5+ system include:
- Lane Departure Alert
- Lane Tracing Assist
- Automatic High Beams
- Road Sign Assist
- Rear Seat Reminder
