2017 Toyota Tacoma
The latest generation of the 2017 Toyota Tacoma comes in six trim levels that offer a variety of options. The standard engine for this pickup is a 2.7-liter four-cylinder engine that can get 159 horsepower or an optional 3.5-liter V6 engine that can get up to 278 horsepower. Transmission options are a five-speed manual or a six-speed automatic transmission.
Two-wheel drive is standard for the 2017 Toyota Tacoma, but a four-wheel drive is an option which bumps up the transmission to a performance-oriented six-speed manual.
You’re not getting a truck solely for its performance though, so let’s talk hauling capabilities: this new Toyota truck can tow between 6,400 to 6,800 pounds depending on the drivetrain. An extra tow package is available for those willing to step their game up, and that includes a hitch, wiring, a bigger alternator, and trailer sway control.
Not to mention the features inside this truck like a built-in GoPro® camera, smartphone connection abilities with navigation, a 400-watt power outlet, and blind-spot monitoring.
2017 Toyota Tundra
The 2017 Toyota Tundra is a full-size pickup with three different cab styles and up to six trim levels depending on your needs. Two V8 engines are offered for this truck: a 4.6-liter V8 engine that gets 310 horsepower, or a 5.7-liter V8 engine that gets 381 horsepower.
Pair these engines with either rear-wheel drive or four-wheel drive, depending on how much hauling you plan on doing. The 4.6-liter engine has a towing capacity of up to 6,800 pounds, while the 5.7-liter engine can tow up to a whopping 10,500 pounds.
For off-road enthusiasts, the 2017 Toyota Tundra TRD Pro is the way to go…this trim comes with off-road tires, an off-road suspension with Bilstein shock absorbers, and 18-inch alloy wheels.
